How much oxygen is dissolved into your water. It is a key indicator of your tap water quality. Dissolved oxygen levels are important because they show how well a body of water can support aquatic life. Generally, levels below 3mg/L are concerning.

A measure of the cloudiness of your tap water. Levels should not exceed 1 NTU.

pH measures acid or base quality of water. A pH of 7 is neutral, below 7 is acidic, and above 7 is alkaline. Standard levels are between 6.5 and 8.5.

Heavy metals are metallic elements that can be toxic or poisonous at low concentrations. They are dangerous to human health because they can bioaccumulate inside of us. While we can test for a range of heavy metals in water, for our heavy metal analysis, for the data presented here, we will test for the presence of lead in your tap water sample. Lead is particularly concerning given its impacts on children, including lowering 10, learning and behavioral difficulties, and slowed growth.

Perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) are a group of synthetic chemicals that have been used in numerous consumer products and industrial processes since the 1940s. PFAS are called "forever chemicals" because they are nearly indestructible and do not degreag easily. They are toxic at extremely low levels and can have dangerous effects on human health and the environment.
